Engines roared to life as the IndyCar Grand Prix of Long Beach stormed the city streets. After a blistering qualifying session, Meyer Shank Racing’s Felix Rosenqvist captured pole position, setting the stage for an epic showdown. But the ice-cool veteran Scott Dixon stole the spotlight, masterfully navigating the tight turns to claim a historic victory. The iconic seaside circuit delivered heart-pounding action, with daring overtakes and strategic pit stops keeping fans on the edge of their seats. As the checkered flag waved, the city of Long Beach erupted in celebration, basking in the glory of hosting one of the most exhilarating races on the IndyCar calendar.
But IndyCar wasn’t the only show in town. The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship also took place over the same weekend, delivering its brand of high-octane drama on the streets of Long Beach. In a strategic masterstroke, the No. 01 Cadillac, co-driven by Sébastien Bourdais and Renger van der Zande emerged victorious. Proving that tire strategy can be as important as horsepower, the team ran the 100-minute race on just one set of Michelin tires. Their decision not to change tires during their pit stop allowed them to leapfrog into the lead over the pole-sitting No. 31 Whelen Cadillac of Pipo Derani and Jack Aitken, who finished just 0.564 seconds behind in a thrilling finish.Â
