5 Questions We Asked and He Answered:
1. How did you develop a passion for cars and/or motorsports?
The Meet was born from a deep-rooted love for the car community, something passed down from family and shaped by personal experience. My father, Luis Perez, grew up around the Southern California car scene back in the early 90’s and wanted to create a space that honored that legacy while giving back to a new generation of enthusiasts.
2. What advice do you have for people who want to break into the motorsports and auto industry?
TStart with community. Build genuine relationships, stay consistent, and stay true to your vision. There’s space for everyone, and the most impactful way in is by bringing value to the culture, not just consuming it.
3. If you could drive any car, what would it be and why?
If I could drive any car, it would be the Mugen RR. It’s one of the rarest, most respected Hondas ever built, track-focused, lightweight, and engineered with pure passion. It perfectly reflects what The Meet is about: appreciation for iconic Japanese performance and the culture behind it.
4. If you could attend any car/motorsports event in the world, which would you choose? Why?
I’d choose to attend a Formula 1 race, no question. It’s the highest level of motorsport, featuring elite drivers, cutting-edge technology, and nonstop adrenaline. Experiencing that energy in person would be unforgettable and a major inspiration for what we’re building with The Meet, a space driven by passion, precision, and culture.
5. What’s the most exciting car event/race you’ve ever attended?
The 50th Anniversary of The Long Beach Grand Prix. It was an unforgettable experience, being there for such a historic milestone, with Acura and HRC playing a huge role in the race, made it even more special. The energy, the cars, and the legacy behind it all left a lasting impression.
