5 questions we asked and he answered:

1. How did you develop a passion for cars and/or motorsports?
The love for cars was passed down from my uncle. The love for motorsports? Yeah, he may have started it, but I went all in. The love of photography I stumbled upon by myself…and it proved a potent combo when these passions finally combined.

2. What advice do you have for people who want to break into the motorsports and auto industry?
Speaking as a racing photographer…the only way you get started is to start shooting photos as a spectator. Absolutely no one will hand you a credential and photo vest on day 1. Shoot past the fences. Build your portfolio. Visualize what others can’t. Present your work to anyone! Be friendly!

3. If you could drive any car, what would it be and why?
McLaren F1. I’ve sat in one and would love to go on a three-hour joyride in one pretty badly.

4. If you could attend any car/motorsports event in the world, which would you choose? Why?
Le Mans. For very simple reasons, I would like one superpower to go with it though: the ability to teleport from one corner to another, back to the media center, to a cafe, to bed, then back trackside. The prospect of shooting the 24 Hours is both exciting and terrifying.

5. What’s the most exciting car event/race you’ve ever attended?
It still has to be the US Grand Prix at Indy, 2006. We didn’t know it then but it was Schumacher’s last season with Ferrari…and it was Alonso’s last championship, Montoya’s last GP, etc. I think I still have hearing damage from that weekend!
