5 questions we asked and he answered:
1. How did you develop a passion for cars and/or motorsports?
Like many people, I grew up around cars because of my father; he worked in the automotive industry and still does today. I grew up with SEMA show project vehicles, classic Mustangs, and old farm trucks. I bought my first car at 14, fixed it over the summer, and sold it for a big return, so I started buying and selling classic cars out of one of our barns.
2. What advice do you have for people who want to break into the motorsports and auto industry?
Volunteer at events, car shows, and racing events. So many of the connections I made early on just came from the car community, offering to help set up a meet or becoming a corner worker at a race event.
3. If you could drive any car, what would it be and why?
Aston Martin DBR1, for me it is the ultimate sports car.
4. If you could attend any car/motorsports event in the world, which would you choose? Why?
The Monaco Historic Grand Prix is on my list; it is as close as I can get to the glory days of racing.
5. What’s the most exciting car event/race you’ve ever attended?
I have attended so many it is hard to pick one, I just got back from the Indy 500, as a guest of Shell and was able to be up in the winner’s circle after the race it was pretty hard to top being part of that.
